CDOT Improvements to I-70, Paired with Driver Awareness, Reduced Crashes and Delays This Winter

This news release discusses Colorado DOT's achievements in increased safety during the winter of 2014-2015.
Due to increased attention to the i-70 mountain corridor in terms of infrastructure, operations, and public research, there was significant improvement. Key statistics they cite are:

Reduced injury and fatal crashes by 35 percent, and weather related crashes by 46 percent
Reduced unplanned closure time by 16 percent
Reduced number of hours of eastbound delay longer than 75 minutes by 26 percent
